Testing Hydraulic Pressure with Hydraulic Pressure Gauge
At times the disc brakes of the vehicle render problem and issues which can be related to the hydraulic pressure of the master cylinder in the vehicle for which you might need to do a hydraulic pressure test.
Here's a step by step procedure to test the hydraulic pressure.
Step 1 Get a hydraulic brake pressure test kit from a local auto parts store etc. Make sure that the test kit has multiple adapter fittings to make it work within your car.
Step 2 Next, jack up the car in order to work under it comfortably.
Step 3 Remove the tires and wheels from the vehicle with the help of a lug wrench.
Step 4 Remove the bleeder valve screw from the brake caliper using an appropriate tool for screwing etc.
Step 5 After removing the bleeder valve screw, look for an appropriate adapter fitting to fix it with the pressure gauge. Now make the bleeder valve stem on the brake caliper connect with the pressure gauge.
Step 6 Next, let another person step in the vehicle and apply pressure on the brake pedal.
Step 7 Once there is some pressure on the brake pedal, the pressure indicator on the hydraulic pressure gauge would start shooting upwards. There is a highest pressure point indicator which shows the highest pressure level of the hydraulic fluid moving through the given brake system. Thus, one can compare the actual pressure levels with the ideal pressure levels.
Step 8 Finally, remove the pressure gauge from the brake caliper bleeder valve and bleed the brakes by applying pressure on to the brake pedals with open bleeder valve screw.
Step 9 Refill the brake fluid reservoir with specified brake fluids and test the brakes as the final act. Make the necessary modifications if required.
