What is the Best Kind of GPS?
Have you ever wondered what the best type of GPS is? There really is no definite answer but there are advantages to all kinds of GPS devices that are made.
The different types of GPS devices are Automotive, Hand held or Portable, Marine and tracking. The Automotive GPS is the most common. It is used by people in there cars. Marine GPS is used for boats who are on the water. They have special maps that have details of lakes, rivers and streams. Some gps devices for marine use even come with the optional fish finder and depth gauges. Tracking GPS devices are used to track the progress of a vehicle from a distant location. This technology is used primarily by employers to track the progress of employees and the employers vehicle. The antenna is places in an inconspicuous location and the progress is tracked and may be viewed live from a computer.
There is no definite answer to which one is the best but all of these GPS devices have advantages. The best thing about current GPS technology is that it allows for a very wide range of devices in a wide price range. You can purchase beginner GPS devices for under $100USD now and get top of the line Marine GPS with fish finder and depth gauges for over $5000USD. The higher end devices all have more options but if you are just looking to get from point A to point B then a lower prices device may be for you.
