cyclocross tire choice?
A little less than half my 22 mile round trip commute is on bike trails (roots, rocks, sand, mud) and fire roads. A lbs told me about Specialized Crossroads Armadillo tires; twice as much $$ as the Kenda Kwick Cyclocross tires I like as well. Does anyone have any strong opinion in favor of one of these? Or can you recommend something different? (not concerned with tire life. softer rubber for better road grip is for me). Thanks.
Strong opinion:
Run from the Kenda's. I personally hate Kenda tires. I have the Specialized tires that replaced Kenda's that came on my bike.
More strong opinion: Kenda's are junk tires, made to be cheap.
The Specialized are wearing like iron and seem to be damage proof.
Kenda's went flat on the first and every ride I took them on. Total of 4 rides, shame on me. Should have trashed them after that first ride.
