Help with choosing the right bike?
I'm about to buy a second hand road bike, but i just wanted to hear other people's views on it. It is a 2001 Bianchi Alloro SL Aluminum, the rims have been upgraded to 'fir' rims, altho am unsure about the exact model, and the STI shifters, cranks and rear mech have been upgraded to 'dura-ace' from the standard 'ultegra'. How will this bike run? Is it lightweight?

That sounds like a nice bike. I like Bianchi. DA are excellent parts. Good Alum frame, carbon fork and nice looking too. Fir rims, not well known in the US are good, Italian make I believe. Don't know the weight but I'd guess in the 18 lb range, very nice. I looked around and the bike retailed at $2100 in 2001. If the price is right I'd buy it.
