Whats the difference between Shimano Ultegra and Shimano 600 Ultegra deraillers?

Also, is this bike a good deal? its a Trek 5200 OCLV (says great shape/hardly used)
Over a period of several years the Shimano 600 became 600 Ultegra, and finally just Ultegra. What is important is the number of cogs on the cassette, 6,7,8,9, or 10. If the person is calling the group 600 Ultegra, it likely is 8 speed, which hasn't been produced for over 10 years. You don't give the asking price, so telling you how good the deal is will not be possible, The bike will be one of the early Trek OCLV frames, some of which had problems with cracks at the lugs(this is a carbon lugged frame). If the bike wasn't used much, it could be a good deal, even by today's standards it is light. If the price is low enough, it would be a good buy, but if any of the components are worn out, findng replacements will take some effort. If everything is in good shape, you could get many years of use out of this bike, and it would be better quality than any 8 speed bike you could buy today
